Nowruz is observed with a wide range of rites in Iran, but not all of them are the same. In the northern province of Mazandaran people welcome the beginning of the new Persian year and the new season with rituals that are specific to that region. One of the most interesting traditions mostly practiced there prior to the beautiful Nowruz is a performance dubbed "Nowruz-khani" or singing for Nowruz. Our team has has traveled to Mazandaran to give us a glimpse of some of the traditions observed there during Nowruz holidays.
