The 35th Fajr International Film Festival has come to a close announcing the "Simorgh" winners. The annual festival which hosts filmmakers and artists from around the world aims to promote peace and proximity among people. The festival generally distances itself from mainstream and Hollywood cinema and therefore has developed an insight for the better understanding both the content and the form of the movies in order to choose the best independent movies hoping to pave the way for the next New Wave cinema while creating a platform for cross-cultural interaction in a globalizing world.
