Use All Your Strength

Once a young boy and his father were walking along a forest path. At one point, they came across a huge tree branch on the ground in front of them.

Seeing that, the boy asked his father, ”If I try, do you think I can move that branch?”

Father replied: “I am sure you can if you use all your strength.”

The boy was motivated, he went toward that branch and tried his best to lift or push that branch aside but he wasn’t able to move it.

Disappointed he looked at his father and said: “Dad! I couldn’t move it!”

His dad encouraged him and said: “Try again…”

Again, the boy struggled really hard but he couldn’t move it.
The boy got sad and said to his father: “Dad! I used all my strength but still couldn’t move it.”
His dad smiled and said: “Son, I advised you to use all your strength. I am here with you but you didn’t ask for my help!”

Then with the help of his father, the boy was able to move that branch aside.

Moral:

Our real strength lies not in being independent, but in interdependence. No individual person has all the strength and stamina.
To ask for help and support when we are in need is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of wisdom. It is a call for greater strength that lives in our togetherness.
