Dr. Ali Shariati Street (formerly Shemiran Old Road and Kourosh Kabir Street) is one of the most important and long streets in Tehran, which has a south-north direction. Before the revolution, this street was called Kourosh Kabir Street. After the revolution, the name of this street was changed in honor of Dr. Ali Shariati, an Iranian writer and researcher who gave many lectures at Hosseinieh Ershad on this street.

These alleys are the oldest road connecting Tehran to Shemiran and Qasran areas and its extension during the Qajar period connected Dar al-Khalafah to Shemiran region in the north of Tehran. The southern beginning of this street, which in the past (until the end of Qajar) was the gate of Shemiran, today is the Shemiran turn in Enghelab Street and extends to Quds Square. The street is home to a wide range of businesses and services, from local to urban.

خیابان دکتر علی شریعتی (با نام پیشین جاده قدیم شمیران و خیابان کوروش کبیر) یکی از خیابان‌های مهم و طولانی شهر تهران است که جهتی جنوبی - شمالی دارد. این خیابان پیش از انقلاب، خیابان کورش کبیر نام داشت. پس از انقلاب نام این خیابان به افتخار دکتر علی شریعتی، نویسنده و پژوهشگر ایرانی که در حسینیه ارشاد واقع در این خیابان سخنرانی‌های فراوانی داشت، تغییر کرد.

این خیایان قدیمی‌ترین جاده ارتباطی تهران به پهنه شمیران و قصران به شمار می‌آید و امتداد آن در زمان قاجار، دارالخلافه را به منطقه شمیران در شمال تهران وصل می‌کرده است. ابتدای جنوبی این خیابان که در گذشته (تا اواخر قاجار) دروازه شمیران بوده، امروزه پیچ شمیران در خیابان انقلاب محسوب می‌شود و تا میدان قدس امتداد می‌یابد. این خیابان عملکردهای تجاری و خدماتی در طیف وسیعی از مقیاس محلی تا شهری را در خود جای داده‌است.
