We use the zero conditional to talk about rules or facts:

If you get a six, you can start.
If you don't get a six, you can´t start.
If you arrive at a ladder, you go to the top.
If you arrive at a snake´s mouth, you go down to the end of the snake.

If + present tense, present tense.

If you arrive at a snake´s mouth, you go down to the end of the snake.
