I will not celebrate this Nowroz as a sign of respect for all the loved ones we have lost. 

I will celebrate it only to preserve this ancient tradition and in honor of those who will be setting up their Haftsin alone this year, feeling the void left by their loved ones who are gone. 

In honor of women who taught us courage. 
And those kulbars who lost their lives. 

I hope that next year, every refugee reaches safety and the nightmare of the past 41 years comes to an end.

Finally, a special tribute to all the nurses and doctors who have given a new meaning to words such as 'duty' and 'selflessness'.
