How is Nowruz celebrated in Kyrgyzstan?

Nowruz, or Navroz, is the Persian New Year and is celebrated in the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia. This festival marks the beginning of spring and this day symbolizes peace, solidarity, reconciliation, and friendship, and people celebrate it with good food, new clothes and spending quality time with loved ones.

In Kyrgyzstan, it's also a day where people celebrate their national culture and there are a lot of cultural events across the country. We went to the South Shore National Games Festival in the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, an event organized by Ethno-Cultural Tourist Destination South Shore of Issyk-Kul where they showcased Kyrgyz national games and traditions.

During this event,people were in high spirits while decorating the streets and making lots of typical Kyrgyz dishes. After spending a lot of time in a big city, we almost forgot how much we love the people in these small villages! They are so welcoming and friendly, happy to share their traditions with foreigners.
