Islamshahr is the center of Islamshahr city and the second most populous city in Tehran province. It is the 19th most populous city in Iran. This city is the most populous city that is not the center of the province. According to the General Population and Housing Census (2016) of the Statistics Center of Iran, in 2016, the city had a population of 548,620, of which 279,282 were men and 269,338 were women. The nearest city to Tehran, which is 12 km away from Tehran.

اسلامشهر مرکز شهرستان اسلامشهر و دومین شهر پرجمعیت در استان تهران است. این شهر نوزدهمین شهر ایران از لحاظ جمعیت می‌باشد. این شهر پرجمعیت‌ترین شهری است که مرکز استان نمی‌باشد. بر طبق سرشماری عمومی نفوس و مسکن (۱۳۹۵) مرکز آمار ایران این شهرستان در سال ۱۳۹۵، ۵۴۸٬۶۲۰ نفر جمعیت داشت که ۲۷۹٬۲۸۲ نفر آن مرد و ۲۶۹٬۳۳۸ نفر آن زن می‌باشند. نزدیک‌ترین شهرستان به تهران که ۱۲ کیلومتر با شهر تهران فاصله دارد.
