گرگور به قفس‌های ماهیگیری ساخته شده از توری گفته می‌شود. کاربرد این گونه ابزار ماهیگیری در کرانه‌های ایرانی خلیج فارس رواج زیاد دارد.
گرگور قفسی توری است که با بند، آن را به ته دریا می‌فرستند و به سر بند یک قطعه چوب پنبه می‌بندند تا محل قرارگرفتن گرگور را گم نکنند. ماهی‌ها از یک دریچه وارد شده و راه برگشت را پیدا نمی‌کنند و درون قفس گیر می‌کنند و فقط ماهی‌های درشت در درون گرگور می‌مانند.
ورود ماهی به مدخل گرگور در ابتدا به سهولت انجام می‌شود. این نیز به خاطر شکل خاص ساختمان بدن ماهی و نحوه استقرار باله‌های پشتی و مخرجی در سطح بدن آن است. اگر ماهی در نیمه راه مدخل قصد بازگشت از آن را داشته باشد، وجود خارها مانع از این منظور شده و هیچ راهی جز حرکت به جلو و ورود به محوطه داخل قفس برای آن باقی نمی‌ماند. ماهی تا زمان تخلیه گرگور توسط صیاد محکوم به اسارت در آن خواهد بود.

گناوه کنونی در ساحل خلیج فارس و میان بوشهر بندر دیلم به فاصله هیجده کیلومتری شرق خور امام حسن واقع است شهرستان گناوه قدیم در یک نیم دایره در جانب شمالی شهر کنونی براین شهر محیط می‌باشد از گناوه قدیم نقاطی باقی‌مانده که امروزه بنامهای تیرسول به معنی شن فشرده و یکپارچه در زبان محلی و عبدامام وتل گوری، تل مناره، بتن؛ و بالاخره تل امام زاده خوانده می‌شود هر یک از این نقاط دارای گذشته‌های دوراست که ویرانی‌های قدیم را درخود جای داده‌است.
اکثر ساکنین گناوه شیعه و اقلیتی سنی هستند.

Bushehr lies in a vast plain running along the coastal region on the Persian Gulf coast of south-western Iran. It is built near the ancient port city of Rishahr (Sassanian, Riv Ardasher). It was the chief seaport of the country and is the administrative centre of its province. Its location is about 1,218 kilometres (757 mi) south of Tehran. Bushehr has a desert climate.

Bushehr was the main trade center of Iran in the past centuries. The city structures are traditional in style, modest in proportion and cost. Due to its lack of rail connection to the interior of the country and its shallow anchorage, it has lost its position as the primary port of Iran.
