Mahmudabad is the name of a coastal city near the Caspian Sea. This city is the center of Mahmudabad city. The economy of this city is based on tourism, fishing and agriculture. Mahmudabad is located on the coastal road and adjacent to the Caspian Sea. Mahmoudabad-Amol road also connects it with Haraz road. The most important cities around it are Noor in the west, Amol in the south and Fereydunkenar and Babolsar in the east.

Nur is one of the cities of Mazandaran province of Iran. This city is the center of the central part of Noor city. The people of Noor city speak Mazandaran language with Kojori dialect which is similar to the dialect of Nowshahr and Chalus people.

محمودآباد نام شهری ساحلی در مجاورت دریای مازندران است. این شهر مرکز شهرستان محمودآباد است. اقتصاد این شهر برپایه گردشگری، ماهیگیری و کشاورزی استوار است. محمودآباد بر سر جاده ساحلی و در مجاورت دریای خزر قرار دارد. همچنین جاده محمودآباد-آمل ارتباط آن را با جاده هراز برقرار می‌کند. مهم‌ترین شهرهای اطراف آن، نور در غرب، آمل در جنوب و فریدون‌کنار و بابلسر در شرق می‌باشد.

نور یکی از شهرهای استان مازندران ایران است. این شهر مرکز بخش مرکزی شهرستان نور است. مردم شهرستان نور زبان مازندرانی را با گویش کجوری صحبت می‌کنند که به گویش مردم شهرستان نوشهر و چالوس شباهت دارد.
