Taleqani Street is one of the central streets of Tehran. This street was called Persepolis Street before the revolution. Taleqani Street has a west-east direction and starts from Quds Street in the west and passes through Palestine Square in the middle of the road and finally reaches Taleqani three ways (intersection with Shariati Street).
In the past, this street was known as the northernmost street of Tehran, but today it is located in the central part of the city.
There are many government offices and organizations on this street, which is why Taleghani Street is so important. The former US Embassy in Tehran is located on this street.
This street intersects with Bahar St., Mofteh St., Qarni St., Nejatollahi St., Hafez St., Vali Asr St., Palestine St. (Palestine Square) and Vesal Shirazi St. in the east-west direction.

خیابان طالقانی یکی از خیابان‌های مرکزی تهران است. این خیابان پیش از انقلاب خیابان تخت جمشید نام داشت. خیابان طالقانی جهت غربی - شرقی داشته و از خیابان قدس در سمت غرب آغاز شده و در میانه راه از میدان فلسطین عبور کرده و در نهایت به سه راه طالقانی (تقاطع با خیابان شریعتی) می رسد.
در گذشته از این خیابان با عنوان شمالی‌ترین خیابان تهران یاد می‌شد اما امروزه در محدوده مرکزی شهر قرار گرفته‌است.
تعداد زیادی از ادارات و سازمان‌های دولتی در این خیابان قرار دارند و به همین دلیل خیابان طالقانی از اهمیت خاصی برخوردار است. سفارت سابق ایالات متحده آمریکا در تهران در این خیابان قرار دارد.
این خیابان در مسیر شرق به غرب با خیابان بهار، خیابان مفتح، خیابان قرنی، خیابان نجات اللهی، خیابان حافظ، خیابان ولی عصر، خیابان فلسطین (میدان فلسطین) و خیابان وصال شیرازی تقاطع دارد.
