INGREDIENTS:

Biscuit Ingredients
Eggs - 3
Sugar – ½ Cup
Oil – ½ Cup
Butter – 125g
Vanilla bean paste – 1/2 Tsp
Flour – 2 & ½ Cup
Baking Powder – 1 Tbsp
Semolina – 1 Cup
Cardamom Powder – 1 Tsp
Syrup Ingredients
Water – 2 Cups
Sugar – 2 & ½ Cup
Lemon Juice – 1 Tbsp
Pistachios – As much as you desire

PREPARATION
1. In a bowl Whisk the eggs and sugar, once the egg and the sugar have been whisked together add the oil, butter and vanilla bean paste. Mix that and put aside for later use.
2. In another bowl sift in the flour, baking powder and cornmeal. Then throw in the cardamom powder and mix.
3. Pour in the wet ingredients and knead until a dough is formed. Leave this dough to rest for 30 minutes.
4. Once the dough has rested create tear shapes and lay them out in a deep tray. Create slits in the middle, scrape them with a fork and coat them with an egg yolk mixture then put them in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes on 175 Celsius.
5. As the dough is baking in the oven create the syrup. Boil the water and sugar until the sugar is dissolved and then add the lemon juice. Mix this well and then turn off the heat.
6. Let the syrup cool down and ladle it over the 'Shakarpara'. Once the syrup is soaked, sprinkle on the pistachios and let it cool completely.
7. Enjoy!
